What if I’m not flexible?

This is the most common misconception that prevents people from coming to a yoga class. Yoga is not about how flexible you are, but about strengthening your body and spine in all directions. If you try the right way and go to your personal edge you will get 100% of the benefits. Over time your body will improve and you’ll gain the flexibility that you never thought you could have.

Why the heated room?

The room is intentionally heated to warm your muscles and allow you to work more deeply and safely into the postures. The heat also detoxifies the body through sweating which flushes toxins from the body. Your heart rate will increase and you get a better cardiovascular workout. The heat softens muscles, connective tissues, and bones into an optimal state for reorganization.

Is it a cardiovascular workout and can I lose weight?

Yes. No matter what your level of fitness is, you will find Bikram Yoga challenging! Each posture combines flexibility, strength and balance to work your body from the inside out. With persistence, patience and dedication, you can lose inches and develop muscle tone and strength that might never come from other forms of exercise. Practicing yoga draws bodily systems into harmony, regulates metabolism, and normalizes weight.
